Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 Launch Roster

Capcom has just released the launch roster for Street Fighter 6 featuring 18 characters, six of which are new to the series. Alongside these are some familiar faces like Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Zangief.

Capcom is also introducing some new gameplay elements in this title, including World Tour and Battle Hub. While World Tour is a new single-player mode that puts you in the shoes of an up-and-coming fighter, Battle Hub is a new multiplayer section where you can challenge other players online.


Street Fighter 6 will feature a number of familiar faces from past games in the series. But it will also feature new characters to challenge players.

The roster of Street Fighter 6 features a variety of personalities and fighting styles. Some of these include a kung-fu ninja who mixes martial arts with breakdancing skills, a judo-style master, and a woman who mixes dance and gymnastics.

Ryu, a longtime fan favorite and the original character to appear in Street Fighter, is one of the main protagonists. He’s a sincere and well-mannered martial artist who seeks true strength.

Luke and Jamie are two of the most popular characters in Street Fighter history, and they’re both returning for SF 6. They’ll be joined by Lily, Marisa, Kimberly, JP, Dee Jay, Juri, Cammy, E. Honda, Blanka, Guile, Ken, and Chun-Li.


The game features a variety of modes. You can enjoy arcade mode, online matches, training mode, and local versus battles.

Moreover, Street Fighter 6 features two new modes called World Tour and Battle Hub that provide players with a more immersive experience. It also introduces a brand new control scheme.

Returning characters Ryu, Chun-Li and Luke have undergone striking redesigns for this new generation of fighting. Joining them is a new brawler named Jamie who will add his own flair to the fight with his unpredictable move set.

In addition, a new system called the Drive Gauge will let you perform five different techniques that will enhance your offensive or defensive capabilities. It’s a system designed to encourage creativity.


Capcom’s latest game in the Street Fighter series, Street Fighter 6, looks to be a real beauty. Developed on the RE Engine, which powers Resident Evil 7, Devil May Cry 5, and Resident Evil Village, it has a hyper-realistic visual style that doesn’t oversaturate characters with paint and ink explosions like the previous entries.

Ryu and Chun-Li look stunning in their new designs, while Ken, Dhalsim, and Blanka all mix realism with some cartoon-like effects to really make them pop out. They all look so amazing that it’s hard to not get swept up in them when they hit the screen.

Drive System

The Drive System is the heart of the game, giving players new options to parry and repel attacks. It consists of five different techniques that players can unlock with the push of two buttons.

It also combines some elements from past Street Fighter games, including Overdrive Art moves which are akin to EX Special Moves from previous titles.

This system allows players to absorb attacks, close gaps, and counter-attack when trapped in a corner, depending on how much of their drive gauge they have available.

The Drive Gauge is a metered mechanic that starts full and depletes when blocking, performing drive actions, or getting hit by Super Arts. If it runs out, the player enters Burnout, a state that can damage them and cause a number of disadvantages.

Training Mode

In Street Fighter 6, the training mode offers a range of options for learning and testing your character. These features include Simple Training Settings that make it easy for players to learn and practice with a few button presses.

The training mode also allows users to view frame data for moves and combos, including startup, total, and recovery frames. It also includes preset scenarios to help users practice anti-air defense, whiff punishes, parrying, and Drive Impact Defense.

It’s no secret that fighting games struggle to get players to bridge the gap between button mashing and understanding the game’s mechanics and decision making process. Capcom seems to be making progress with their Simple Training Settings, but we’d love to see even more options for players to master and improve their characters.
